The Golden Temple
This is the Sikhs’ holiest shrine and contains the original copy of their holy book the Guru Granth Sahib.
View as you first come inside the complex.
The Hari Mandir Sahib in the centre of the lake, Amrit Sarovar.
View from the opposite corner.
Some info.
Durgiana Mandir
Temple for the Hindu goddess Durgia. Similar structure inside a lake.
Presumably the Hindi god Ganeesh.
View of part of the lake from the central temple.
Statue of Shiva(?) in the lake.
Jalianwala Bagh
Very little anti-British monuments. This one of a 1919 massacre.
Part of the park here. There are a lot of eucalypts in India.
The walls here still show bullet holes.
Students in the park drawing the sculpture.
Wagah border
Indian border gate. (This is about 35kms from Amritsar).
Lowering the flag.
Pakistan gate opposite.

Indian border security.
Both armies put on a fancy synchronized parade to lower their respective flags.
Tourists from both sides joined in the party. Lots of jingoism on display.
Another tourist (the short one).
